Dry herbal powder massage — improves circulation, tones skin, helps weight.
✓ Prescribed by Dr. Gaurav Sharma after your diagnosis

Udvartana comes from ud, meaning upward, and vartana, meaning rubbing. In this therapy, warm herbal powders are massaged over the body with vigorous strokes against the grain — upward, opposite to the direction of hair growth. It is a dry massage: no oil is used.
The upward rubbing does three things at once. It exfoliates dead skin, it boosts blood circulation to the skin and tissues, and it helps mobilise stubborn fat. The body feels lighter, warmer and more active afterwards. That is why Udvartana is a core therapy in Ayurvedic weight management and for heaviness of the body.
In Ayurvedic terms, Udvartana reduces aggravated Kapha and Meda (fat tissue). Kapha is the dosha behind heaviness, sluggishness and weight gain. By rubbing herbal powders against the grain, the therapy scrapes away excess Kapha and wakes up a sluggish metabolism.
Udvartana is Ayurveda's dry, energising massage — built for heaviness, sluggish metabolism and stubborn weight.
If any of these sound like you, this therapy was made for your problem.
If your body feels heavy, stiff and slow — and the weighing scale barely moves — Udvartana may be the right therapy for you.
Udvartana helps people with Kapha-type problems: heaviness, sluggish metabolism, weight that will not move, and dull skin. It suits those who feel heavy and slow, and those starting a weight management plan.
Udvartana is especially helpful when Kapha is aggravated — the doctor confirms this during your diagnosis.
A typical session lasts 30–45 minutes.
Consultation first. Dr. Gaurav Sharma examines you, checks your dosha through Nadi Pariksha, and decides whether Udvartana suits you.
Choosing the powders. Warm herbal powders are selected for your body type and your problem.
The massage. The therapist massages vigorously with upward strokes, against the grain, over the whole body.
Duration. The massage continues for 30–45 minutes. Pressure is adjusted to your comfort throughout.
Rest. You rest briefly while the powders keep working on the skin.
Warm bath. A warm bath follows, washing off the powders and leaving the skin smooth.
Wear the disposable garments provided. The doctor usually pairs Udvartana with a diet chart — follow it for real results.
At Adinath, Udvartana is prescribed as part of a plan, not as a standalone scrub. The doctor first understands why your weight or heaviness is stuck — metabolism, digestion, hormones — and chooses the powders and the course for that cause. The therapist adjusts the pressure to your comfort throughout.
Udvartana is usually combined with the doctor's diet chart and sometimes with other therapies for weight management. Your plan is reviewed as your body responds.
Udvartana is exfoliating but not painful. It feels like a deep scrub, and the pressure is always adjusted to your comfort — tell the therapist if it ever feels too strong.
Tell the doctor first if you have skin wounds, rashes, very sensitive skin, high blood pressure, or are pregnant — the doctor will advise whether to wait or adjust the therapy.

Udvartana is a dry herbal powder massage used for weight management, heaviness, sluggish metabolism and dull skin. It boosts circulation, exfoliates, and helps mobilise stubborn fat.
A session takes about 30–45 minutes, plus a short rest and a warm bath afterwards.
It depends on your goal and your body. The doctor decides your course after diagnosis — weight management usually needs a course with a diet chart, not a single session.
No — it feels like a deep scrub. Pressure is reduced on request, so tell the therapist if it ever feels too strong.
Yes, it is safe for most people. Tell the doctor about skin wounds, rashes, very sensitive skin, high blood pressure, or pregnancy before the session.
Take the warm bath provided, drink water, and follow the doctor's diet chart. Avoid heavy, oily food right after.
Not the same way — the powders must be chosen for your body type, and the upward strokes need a trained therapist to be effective and safe.
Disposable garments are provided. Come with a light stomach, and follow the doctor's diet chart for real results.
It improves circulation and metabolism, which supports healthy weight loss — but only together with the doctor's diet chart and lifestyle guidance. It is not a shortcut on its own.
