Classical Ayurvedic head massage — melts headaches, stress and scalp tension.
✓ Prescribed by Dr. Gaurav Sharma after your diagnosis

“Shiro” means head, and “Abhyanga” means oil massage. Shiroabhyanga is the classical Ayurvedic head massage — warm herbal oil worked into the scalp, forehead and neck with slow, traditional strokes.
The scalp holds muscles that tighten with stress, and marma points that connect to the mind. Massage relaxes those muscles, improves blood flow to the scalp, nourishes the hair roots, and calms the nervous system.
Headaches, scalp tension, stress and disturbed sleep come mainly from increased Vata, with Pitta adding heat and headache. Shiroabhyanga calms both — it cools the head and settles the mind.
Headaches, stress and a tight scalp all live in the same place — the head. Shiroabhyanga treats the head directly, with warm oil and skilled hands.
If any of these sound like you, this therapy was made for your problem.
If your head feels tight, heavy or stressed, Shiroabhyanga melts that tension away.
Shiroabhyanga suits anyone whose head carries tension — and anyone who wants healthier hair and calmer sleep.
It mainly calms Vata tension and Pitta heat in the head.
A typical session lasts 20–30 minutes.
Consultation first. The doctor checks your headaches, scalp and general health, then selects the herbal oil for you.
Preparation. The warm herbal oil, chosen for your dosha, is prepared.
Massage. Classical strokes are worked over the scalp, forehead and neck, with pressure adjusted to your comfort.
Duration. A typical session lasts 20–30 minutes.
Rest. You rest while the oil nourishes the scalp and roots.
Post-care. Rest and keep the head warm. Wash your hair later, as the doctor advises, and avoid cold air on the head.
Let the oil stay on the scalp for a while after the session — it keeps nourishing the roots. Wash your hair as the doctor advises.
At Adinath, the oil in Shiroabhyanga is chosen by Dr. Gaurav Sharma after Nadi Pariksha and your diagnosis. The oil for migraine-type headaches is not the same as the oil for hair fall.
Trained therapists then carry out the classical strokes — steady, rhythmic and adjusted to your comfort — over the scalp, forehead and neck.
Shiroabhyanga is gentle and safe. Pressure is adjusted to your comfort, and the therapy is fully external.
Tell the doctor about scalp wounds, skin infection on the scalp, fever, or a recent head injury before the session.

Shiroabhyanga is the classical Ayurvedic head massage with warm herbal oil. It relieves headaches, stress, scalp tension, hair fall and poor sleep.
A typical session lasts 20–30 minutes, including rest while the oil nourishes the scalp.
The doctor decides after your diagnosis. A short course helps recent headaches; long-standing stress or hair problems need a longer course, reviewed as your body responds.
No. Pressure is adjusted to your comfort throughout — firm enough to work, gentle enough to relax you.
It is safe when done by trained therapists under the doctor's prescription. Tell the doctor about scalp wounds, skin infection on the scalp, fever, or a recent head injury.
Rest and let the oil stay on the scalp for a while — it keeps nourishing the roots. Wash your hair as the doctor advises, and avoid cold air on the head.
A simple head rub at home is fine. But the classical technique with the right oil and marma strokes is best done at the clinic by trained therapists.
Wear loose clothing and come with a light meal. It is best taken in the evening, when its sleep benefits are strongest.
The oil washes out easily — and it deeply nourishes your scalp. Let it stay for a while after the session, then wash as the doctor advises.
