Warm herbal powder poultices — dry heat for stiffness, heaviness and joint pain.
✓ Prescribed by Dr. Gaurav Sharma after your diagnosis

Churna Pinda Sweda is a dry-heat therapy with warm herbal powder poultices. Churna means herbal powder, Pinda means a bolus or poultice, and Sweda means heating or sweating. The powders are heated, tied into cloth poultices, and massaged rhythmically over the body.
Unlike oil therapies, this one uses dry heat. The warmth opens the channels and the herbal powders stimulate circulation, loosen stiffness and drive out the cold heaviness that makes joints feel locked. There is no oil, so the body does not feel greasy afterwards — just warm, light and loose.
In Ayurveda, this therapy mainly pacifies Kapha and Vata — the doshas behind heaviness, cold, stiffness and pain. It is used for stiff, heavy joints, body pain that gets worse in cold weather, arthritis with stiffness, and muscular heaviness.
Some bodies do not suit oil. Churna Pinda Sweda gives the same deep warming effect through dry heat and herbs.
If any of these sound like you, this therapy was made for your problem.
If your body feels heavy and locked rather than just painful, dry heat is often what it needs.
Churna Pinda Sweda suits people whose main complaint is stiffness and heaviness — the body feels locked, slow and cold, especially in the mornings and in cold weather.
It suits Kapha and Vata problems — cold, heavy, stiff and dry conditions. The doctor confirms it suits you before starting.
A typical session lasts 30–45 minutes.
Consultation first. The doctor examines you, checks your pulse with Nadi Pariksha, and decides whether dry heat suits your condition and which powders to use.
Poultices prepared. The herbal powders are heated and tied into cloth poultices, fresh for your session.
Temperature tested. The poultice temperature is tested on your skin first, so it is warm and comfortable — never burning.
Rhythmic massage. The warm poultices are massaged rhythmically over the body, with pressure adjusted to you.
Rest in a warm room. You rest afterwards in a warm room so the body cools down slowly and the effect settles.
Aftercare. The therapist advises you to keep warm, drink warm water, and avoid cold air for a few hours.
Keep the body warm after the session. Avoid cold air, cold water and heavy food for a few hours.
At Adinath, Churna Pinda Sweda is prescribed by Dr. Gaurav Sharma after Nadi Pariksha and your diagnosis. The powder combination, the heat level and the pressure are set for your body — a person with heavy Kapha stiffness gets a different preparation than one with dry Vata stiffness.
Our therapists are trained in the classical poultice technique and in testing temperature on the skin before every application. When needed, the therapy is combined with oil therapies or other Panchakarma steps as part of a complete plan.
Churna Pinda Sweda is warm and comfortable. The temperature is tested on your skin first, and pressure is adjusted to you throughout the session.
Tell the doctor beforehand about skin burns or wounds, fever, high blood pressure, or pregnancy — the therapy is adjusted or postponed accordingly.

It is a dry-heat therapy with warm herbal powder poultices, used for stiff, heavy joints, body pain worse in cold weather, arthritis with stiffness, and muscular heaviness.
About 30–45 minutes, including rest afterwards.
That depends on your condition. The doctor decides the course after examining you — stiffness that has lasted years needs longer than a recent stiffness.
No. It is warm and soothing. The temperature is tested on your skin first, and pressure is adjusted to your comfort.
It is safe for most people. Tell the doctor about skin burns or wounds, fever, high blood pressure or pregnancy, so it can be adjusted or postponed.
Rest in a warm room, drink warm water, and avoid cold air, cold water and heavy food for a few hours.
No. The heated poultices, the temperature control and the technique need trained hands and clinic preparations.
Wear loose, comfortable clothes. Eat light before the session and avoid a heavy meal just before.
No — that is what makes it different. It is a dry-heat therapy with herbal powders, not oil. People who do not suit oil massage often do well with it.
